We’re looking forward to National Vegetarian Week here at The Parsnipship an even better time than ever to convince people to ditch eating meat and fish and to think a bit more about the food we’re eating and where it comes from.
Kicking off the celebrations early, we are going to be feeding the throng at Cardiff Vegetarian Festival tonight from 6pm at the Mackintosh Hall, Keppoch Street, Roath. The evening promises to be a feast of music and vegetarian food, as always with a true buzz in the air. Catch a glimpse of our main man’s appearance on What’s Occurin’ on Made in Cardiff TV where we had the opportunity to publicise the event with the organiser Neil Stephens.
The theme of this year’s National Vegetarian Week is sharing. One organisation enthusiastically spreading the word is Vegetarian for Life, who we met with this week to talk about how we could get involved with some of their work, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life for older vegetarians and vegans. Find out more about their Share the Care! campaign – aiming to encourage residential care homes to get involved with National Vegetarian Week by giving all those in their care the chance to sample some great vegetarian food. We’re looking forward to donating a couple of recipes to their forthcoming veggie recipe booklet.
The Vegetarian Society and its cookery school will be touring the UK covering almost 800 miles and creating delicious pizzas to share. Pop along to one of the venues, watch the cookery school whip up a pizza, help choose the toppings then taste the fruits of their labour. They’ll be in Cardiff on Working Street on the 24 May.
Happy Veggie Week!
